                        Scholarships

                        The 2024-2025 Essay Contest is here

                        The WEOKIE Foundation will award $50,000 in scholarships!

                        The deadline is Friday, January 31, 2025.

                         

                        The WEOKIE Foundation will award 25 graduating high school seniors a $2,000 scholarship for college or vocational school. 
                         
                        Eligibility: Anyone who lives or attends school in Oklahoma, Canadian, Cleveland, Grady, Lincoln, Logan, McClain, or Pottawatomie county. These counties are eligible per WEOKIE Federal Credit Union's field of membership. 

                        Essay Topic: Share a personal story of when a belief or an idea was challenged. Explain how you navigated differing views, showing critical thinking, adaptability, and empathy.
                         

                         

                        WEOKIE Foundation Scholarship Application

                        Please complete the online form and upload your essay using the form below. 

                        • The essay must be typed, double-spaced, and must be limited to 500 words.

                        • The essay must be uploaded in PDF or Word format. 

                        • Please do not put the date, your name, your hometown, school, or any other personal distinguishing information anywhere on or in the piece.

                        • Essays will be selected based on the following criteria; 50% content, 40% English composition, and 10% following instructions.

                        • An e-mail will be sent to the address entered confirming receipt of the application and essay.

                        Disclaimer: Please note that all submitted essays will be reviewed using AI detection software. Any essay found to be fully or partially generated by AI will be disqualified from the scholarship competition. We encourage all students to submit original, self-authored work to ensure fair consideration by the scholarship committee.
